Using Crispy with ChatGPT
ChatGPT connects to Crispy as a custom MCP app through Developer mode. No API key needed, authentication runs through OAuth with your Crispy account.
Requirements: a paid ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Edu), on the web.
- In ChatGPT, go to Settings, then Apps and Connectors.
- Open Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
- Back in Apps and Connectors, click Create app and give it a name, e.g. Crispy.
- Set the MCP Server URL to
https://crispy.sh/api/mcp. - Set Authentication to OAuth.
- Log in to Crispy and approve the consent screen.
- In any chat, open the plus menu, choose Developer mode, and select Crispy.
ChatGPT auto-discovers every LinkedIn tool, so from there you just describe what you want in plain English: search for people, draft and send messages, check your inbox, pull analytics, or manage campaigns.
Two things to know:
- The OAuth flow ties the connection to your Crispy login, so there is no key to paste or rotate. If you disconnect the LinkedIn account inside Crispy, reconnect it from the Crispy dashboard and the ChatGPT app keeps working.
- You need to select Crispy from the Developer mode menu in a chat before ChatGPT will use the tools in that conversation.
If the app stops responding, re-approve the connection: remove the app under Apps and Connectors, create it again with the same URL, and run through the OAuth consent once more.
