Connecting with a session cookie

You do not have to type your LinkedIn password into Crispy. The connect form has a second path: paste your existing LinkedIn session cookie and Crispy reuses the session you already have in your browser.

When to use it:

  • You sign in to LinkedIn through SSO or a password manager and prefer not to enter credentials.
  • The credentials flow keeps failing for your account.

How to connect with a cookie

  1. On the connect form, click 'Connect with session cookie instead'.
  2. In Chrome, install the Cookie Editor extension, open linkedin.com while signed in, click the extension, and choose Export as JSON.
  3. Paste the export into the cookie field. You can also paste just the li_at cookie value directly.
  4. If you have Sales Navigator or Recruiter, the li_a cookie is required for those features. The Cookie Editor JSON export includes it automatically; if you pasted only li_at, add li_a in the optional field.
  5. Pick the connection location, the country where you normally use LinkedIn.
  6. Click 'Connect with cookie'.

When it works you will see 'LinkedIn connected!' and the account shows as Connected in your dashboard, exactly like the credentials flow.

Common mistakes:

  • Exporting cookies while signed out of LinkedIn. Sign in first, then export.
  • Skipping li_a and then wondering why Sales Navigator tools are unavailable. Paste the full JSON export and this cannot happen.

Pro tip: the same cookie path works for reconnects. If your session expires later, you can reconnect with a fresh cookie export instead of typing credentials.
