Using Sales Navigator with Crispy

If your LinkedIn account has an active Sales Navigator subscription, Crispy detects it automatically when you connect and unlocks the advanced search capabilities at no extra charge. No configuration needed.

What Sales Navigator adds

On top of the classic search filters (keyword, title, company, location, industry), you get:

  • Boolean keyword search (AND, OR, NOT, quotes, parentheses)
  • Seniority level filters
  • Company headcount filters
  • Job function filters
  • Years of experience, time in current role, time at current company
  • School filters
  • Recently changed jobs and recently posted filters

InMail also runs through your Sales Navigator seat, so send_inmail can reach people outside your network using your credits.

How routing works

You do not pick an engine. search_people auto-routes to Sales Navigator the moment you use an SN-only filter like seniority or headcount, and stays on classic search otherwise. If you ever want to force one, pass the linkedin_api parameter with 'classic' or 'sales_navigator'.

Connecting with a cookie?

Sales Navigator needs the li_a cookie in addition to the standard li_at cookie. If you paste a Cookie Editor JSON export, li_a is picked up automatically. If you connect with credentials, this is all handled for you.

If SN search stops working

Sales Navigator runs on a separate LinkedIn session that expires on its own schedule, more often than your main login. If SN-only searches start erroring while everything else works, reconnect your account from the dashboard; that refreshes both sessions at once. The next article explains the two-session setup in detail.
